Horsham 25th on List of Best Places to Raise a Family
A Readers Digest poll has ranked Horsham 25th best place in the UK to raise a family. The results were based on family-friendly requirements such as good schools, a low crime rate, affordable family housing & high employment.
These results were then weighted, based on importance & then measured against statistics from sources such as Home Office crime figures, land registry house price figures & unemployment rates from the Office for National Statistics. Readers Digest then ranked each area.
Horsham is already one of the most desirable places to live in the UK, it was voted 2nd place behind Winchester in the Chanel 4 poll 'Best & Worst Places to live in the UK' in October 2006.
A NEW club night with an urban feel is being launched in Horsham next week.

Proof of this will be next Friday when Resident DJ will be on stage along with guest performances from acclaimed artists such as MC Dred, MC Easy, MC IF-e and the Sickness Legion.
Flip'd will take place at the Drill Hall, Denne Road, Horsham on Friday 18 May between and and will also feature free prizes and giveaways, as well as the opportunity for the young people to have their mobile 'phones security marked for free.
HELP is available to residents on low incomes who are finding it difficult paying their Council Tax.
From time to time, some residents face financial difficulties and this is something that Horsham District Council fully appreciates and offers help to those who are eligible.
Many residents are not aware that there are 23 different situations in which homes could be exempt from Council Tax.
These may include empty homes that are unfurnished, a house undergoing structural repair to make it fit for habitation, or homes that are occupied only by students or severely mentally impaired people.
A full list is available in the 'Council Tax Explained' leaflet which was recently circulated to all homes in the Horsham District, from the Council website (www.horsham.gov.uk) or from the Council's offices.
A BUMPER programme of health walks is being promoted by Horsham District Council.
The 'Walk and talk your way to health' programme takes place every month of the year and the Spring listing has more than 200 different routes to take part in.
All walks are free of charge and are becoming increasingly well attended.
'Walk and talk your way to health' provides everyone with the opportunity and reason to take part in regular walking in a friendly, relaxed environment and at the same time explore the lovely towns, villages and countryside throughout the District.
AS IN previous years, because of the two Easter Bank Holidays, household recycling and refuse collection services are subject to change.
Across the Horsham District there will be no collections of household recycling or refuse on Good Friday (6 April) or Easter Monday (9 April).
Those homes that would normally have had their cans with plastic bottles collected on Friday 6 April will have this collection made on Tuesday 10 April with a collection of green garden waste with non-corrugated card from Zone A properties.
From Wednesday 11 April collections will be delayed, with Monday's collection falling on the Wednesday, Tuesday's on the Thursday, Wednesday's on the Friday and Thursday's on the Saturday. Recycling collections during that period will be newspapers with magazines and green garden waste with non-corrugated card from properties in Zone B.
