For anyone living in Henfield, Small Dole, Upper Beeding, Bramber, Steyning, Shermanbury, Partridge Green, Ashurst, Woodmancote or Blackstone, there is soon to be a new transport service for anyone who normally finds it difficult to use public transport or who lives in rural isolation.
Starting on Wednesday 18 April with a shopping trip to Horsham, a minibus will run from the Henfield area on a weekly basis offering one off Dial-a-Ride journeys, shopping trips to Horsham and excursions.
The Dial-a-Ride part of the minibus service which offers one off journeys on demand will initially operate only on Fridays but it is hoped that this can also be extended to Mondays and Tuesdays in June. |

BILLINGSHURST - Pool project a step closer |
|
Pool project a step closer PLANS to build a public swimming pool in Billingshurst came a step closer last week. Horsham District Council's Cabinet meeting of 11 January has now agreed the process by which a building contractor will be appointed to the project. A new method of selecting a contractor is to be used which uses a new regional construction framework, the 'South East Centre of Excellence Framework for Major Projects and Programmes of Work', which is now available for use by all public authorities in the region for construction projects costing more than £1 million. Following the framework, a company called Willmott Dixon Construction Ltd will be invited to bid for the contract. The relatively local company is very experienced in such work. |

LOWER BEEDING - SID moves to Lower Beeding |
|
SID moves to Lower Beeding A SCHEME to highlight the speed people are travelling through rural areas has been unveiled at Lower Beeding, the latest village to receive training. A Speed Indication Display (SID), which shows a smiley or sad face depending on the speed by which it has passed, has been bought by the Horsham District Crime Disorder Reduction Partnership (HDCDRP) for use in the North Horsham area. This complements an existing SID which is already being used in the southern parishes of the District. Since September 2006 when the HDCDRP took delivery of the second SID, the following communities have come on board with the scheme: Rusper, Warnham, Broadbridge Heath, Rudgwick and Southwater, North Horsham, Forest and Trafalgar (both are in Horsham). |
